Marshall Keith Martin, born in Houston, Texas; prior to joining Hayes, Phillips, Hoffmann & Carberry, P.C., Keith worked as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago.  As an Assistant Corporation Counsel, his litigation services included the defense of Chicago Police officers and the City of Chicago in federal civil cases brought under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, the prosecution of public nuisance abatement enforcement actions in state court, the defense of the City of Chicago in wrongful demolition actions in state court, and the defense of the City of Chicago in employee disciplinary suspension appeal hearings and in police discharge proceedings. His practice spanned all phases of litigation — from pre-suit investigations to trial — and includes federal and state jury trial experience.
